The Canadian Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) supports small and medium-sized businesses like yours to invest in digital transformation. Through the Boost Your Technology grant, successful applicants can access a $15,000 grant to develop a Digital Adoption Plan. Once your Plan is approved, you have access to a 0% interest loan of up to $100,000 and a $7,300 workplace subsidy to implement your digital plans.

Do I qualify?

To be eligible for the CDAP program, your business must:

  • Be incorporated federally or provincially, or be a Canadian resident sole proprietor

  • Be a for-profit, privately owned business

  • Have between 1 – 499 full time equivalent employees

  • Have at least $500,000 of annual revenues in one of the previous three tax years

  • There are four qualifying criteria an organization must meet in order to apply for CDAP:

    Be incorporated federally or provincially, or be a Canadian resident sole proprietor

    Be a for-profit, privately owned business

    Have between 1 - 499 full time equivalent employees

    Have at least $500,000 of annual revenues in one of the previous three tax years

  • Yes. You may apply for each company individually, provided each is a separate legal entity and meets the eligibility criteria.

  • No. You must apply for the grant directly. If you are a business owner, you can also authorize a delegate from your company to apply on your behalf. Kickframe can help support you through this process.

  • The Government of Canada has a list of approved companies in its Digital Advisor Marketplace who you can work with. Kickframe is an approved digital advisor for the Canada Digital Adoption Program.

  • Once your Digital Adoption Plan is finalized, submitted, and approved, you will receive your funding for up to 90% of the total cost (including tax) up to a maximum of $15,000. Grant payment typically takes 30 days.

  • Kickframe typically completes plans within 4-6 weeks. Exact timing will depend on the scope of the plan and the availability of client stakeholders for input and feedback.

  • Your Digital Adoption Plan will include a set of recommendations for how digital technology, media, and tactics can be used by your company to achieve your goals. At minimum it will include a SWOT analysis, a set of recommendations, a phased timeline, and budget for implementation.

  • No. The grant must be used to pay for the development of the Digital Adoption Plan. Eligible costs include advisory fees, associated charges, and applicable sales taxes. After the Digital Adoption Plan is completed, you can use the 0% interest BDC loan to pay for any hardware or software included in the plan.

  • The amount of the loan is determined by the size of your business. If your annual gross revenues are between $500,000 and below $5M you can request a loan up to $50,000. $5M and more, you can request a loan up to $100,000. It is a zero-interest loan with a 5-year term and 12 months of capital postponement. You need to have successfully completed your Digital Adoption Plan to access the loan.

  • Businesses may qualify for a $7,300 wage subsidy to hire someone aged 18-30 to help support some aspect of the implementation of the Digital Adoption Plan.

  • The CDAP grant only covers the cost of Kickframe completing your Digital Adoption Plan. Once your plan is complete, Kickframe can provide you with further support in the areas of digital marketing and training. Kickframe also has a network of vetted implementation partners that we can connect you with.

  • Yes. Businesses currently have until 2025 to apply.
